Uzbekistan-US Deal Worth $100 Billion

On November 6, 2024, a comprehensive package of bilateral agreements was signed during a roundtable attended by Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. US President Donald Trump described the arrangements as an "incredible trade and economic deal."

According to the American leader's statement, Uzbekistan will invest approximately $35 billion over the next three years and more than $100 billion over the following decade in key US industries.

Key cooperation areas include:

  • Rare earth elements — agreements between the Ministry of Geology and Denali Exploration Group, as well as the Reconstruction and Development Fund with Re Element Technologies, open prospects for developing and producing strategically important materials

  • Aviation — Uzbekistan Airways expanded its firm order for Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners from 14 to 22 aircraft, strengthening the national carrier's position on regional and international routes

  • Digital technologies — the Ministry of Digital Technologies and Palo Alto Networks agreed to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, accelerating the economy's digital transformation

  • Water-saving technologies — the Ministry of Agriculture's agreement with Valmont Industries focuses on implementing modern irrigation solutions, critically important for the region's water balance

  • Infrastructure — a contract to modernize pumping stations with Flowserve will improve water supply efficiency

  • Agribusiness — contracts signed for soybean and meal supplies through Datacrop and Luis Dreyfus Company, as well as exports of Uzbek cotton via Uzsanoatexport and Cargill

Trump expressed gratitude to President Mirziyoyev for constructive cooperation, emphasizing expectations for long-term, mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
